I'm a one-on-one personal trainer first and foremost and will be your workout partner, nutrition advisor and fitness guru. I am also here for you 24/7 through this interactive, personalized Nic Irwin Personal Training website.

Nic Irwin Personal Training is a private website for members I have invited. I am the only person who can view your profile (unless you accept or request to be friends with others members)

Browse and add to forums full of nutritional advice and tasty recipes. Read trainer blogs or even add your own.

You may even use your page as a food diary to assess your eating habits and stay accountable.

On the cusp of senior status, with a job that keeps me chained to a computer 40 hours a week, I found myself tripping too frequently, fell and broke a wrist, then sprained an ankle tumbling down a flight of stairs. I finally understood the down side of the old adage: you're only as old as you feel. Overweight, out of balance, and on my way to shapeless, I was becoming fearful of new activities and began to see my world narrowing. I was wary of group exercise classes, knowing I couldn't keep up and fearing I would hurt myself. Do I hear violins playing?

Then a friend suggested I check out Happy Hour Fitness. After my first free session with Nic, things changed dramatically -- there was still hope for me. For the past five months I've been training with Nic twice a week. I have improved balance, rediscovered muscles, better fitting clothes and, most importantly, new confidence. In December I felt like crying after half a dozen push-ups from my knees; the other day I victoriously pumped out 35 on my toes. Whenever I've said "I can't do that," Nic has shown me that with patience, attention and persistence, I can. 

Nic clearly loves what he's doing and his natural good humor is infectious. He's supportive and compassionate, closely monitoring my form, my weaknesses, my energy, my progress. Knowledgeable about nutrition, Nic is more than willing to help with dietary advice, but not pushy. It seems he has a bottomless basket of fun and challenging new activities so that every workout is unique, and there's no chance to get bored. We even manage to fit in some intelligent conversation and a fair amount of silly laughter.

Don't get me wrong, I still moan and groan and curse and if I were on my own I'd certainly choose to sleep in. But, twice a week anyhow, there's Nic to save my day.

Last January 2011, when I turned 63, I weighed *266* lbs, and hadn't been near a gym since high school. I needed to overhaul my diet, lose serious poundage and reach some semblance of fitness again. I didn't know where to begin. Then one morning, walking by Happy Hour Fitness near where I live, I picked up the business card of Nic Irwin - Personal Trainer.
Three and a half months later I weigh *231* lbs (-35Lbs), feel stronger and lighter on my feet, and my diet has changed drastically for the better. All of this I gratefully credit to Nic Irwin. Nic is a soft spoken knowledgeable professional (definitely not the Drill Sergeant type) who genuinely cares about his clients, helping me to set goals and go about reaching them. Along the way he has been sensitive to my physical limitations, creative in providing a variety of exercise to stave off boredom of repetition, and encouraging when I struggle with new challenges. He has also provided me with extremely valuable advice on diet and nutrition, keeps a detailed record of my progress and is always positive in my moments of doubt.
I am rapidly closing in on my goal weight of 225 lbs. (I'm 6'3") I can walk farther and faster, work harder, and most of all, my self image has improved tremendously, thanks to Nic's help. I recommend Nic Irwin highly to anyone looking for a personal trainer.

I had not attended a gym or participated in organized exercise for 20 yrs. I was overweight, self conscious and lacked self confidence.

 

Nic is friendly, patient and nonjudgemental. He has helped me to understand equipment, body movements and how to do each exercise correctly. As a result I have lost 10kgs, gained self confidence, feel great in new clothes and have a greater level of general fitness.

 

I have come to enjoy physical exercise, have more pride in personal appearance (weight wise) and have a much better understanding of nutrition.

 

Nic is a great trainer, motivator and friend. I will miss him in Australia.
